Dude? Where did the wall go?

Makes you kinda laugh when you think about how hard we try to keep out bugs now!

When we decided to renovate the carriage house we had NO IDEA what we were getting ourselves into.


And boy did we learn a thing or two during the process!

The largest part of the renovation was the back of the house.

This is a photo of the little room at we HAD to take down. Once we demo'd the room we learned that it was being held up by a bookcase! A bookcase!!! Not wood, or boards, or studs.... a bookcase!
(ugh)

This is the exact same shot one year later.... and the new wall is built and the creepy room is GONE!

Here is the new wall from the inside! Now it is time to paint!

OK DONE!!!!

Now time to be honest... we didn't do this work. Our amazing contractors did it - and it looks amazing. We had to remove the funk (ie: that upstairs room) to be able to heal this beautiful structure! Sometimes you cant keep all of the old and it is better to build new.
