What was up with pink toilets in the 70's?

This is the main floor bathroom and the reality is.... this bathroom has to go! ALL OF IT!

 At least the pink toilet matched the sink,,, but say goodbye - IT MUST GO!

This is the same shot just a few months later.... no more pink!!!

Now sometimes you have to wonder how these old houses with these electric heaters in the bathrooms didn't burn down. This one was a beast to get out of the wall, and we said a prayer of thanks we NEVER TURNED IT ON!

After some careful consideration what used to be the bathroom might become a large storage closet and butler's pantry ... and have the bathroom move to the other side of the house..... nothing is final until the architect signs off on it!
