Week 5 & 6 Belle Renovation Update

A lot has happened in the last two weeks.... lets catch up.

When I last wrote we were all looking at a rotten sil in the kitchen on the north wall. Jeff and I were worried, but our super heroes didn't seem phased. They quickly (like in 1 day) fixed the problem.... hence why we call them SUPER HEROES!!!

Here is a photo of all the rotten wood removed

 They jacked up the wall so that they could replace the sil

OK add a few new floor joists in the kitchen and we are moving forward....

So then our super heroes looked UP for a while and reinforced the kitchen ceiling joists to finish up the structural work needed for this part of the house

After the kitchen work our super heroes decided to move upstairs to the master bedroom. Check out this photo.... INSANE!!!

For those of you how have not been to Belle - the little room off the back of house (below the room with no wall) is the original summer kitchen - where they cooked for almost a century. It will be removed next week.

In this photo you can see the two very large windows that the master bedroom will have that look out on the back of the property! Yea!

The entire back end of the house will eventually be covered in that gray typar material before it is resided. This is just the start.

OK back downstairs to the kitchen... the siding is coming off and typar paper going up. This is probably the most un-sexy part of this project.... but very very important since it is how the house stays dry and warm.

For the last photos.... these illustrate the MESS and chaos right now on our beautiful Belle property:

This first picture is of WHAT WILL BE the screened in porch.... but right now you can see the 1950's picture window laying on the ground and plywood plugging the hole (UGLY!!!!)

And this my friends is CHAOS!!!!
Look at that mess..... It is hard to believe this will be beauty in a few months

Jeff and I decided it was a good thing we didn't go up to Livingston this weekend to see this in person - I think it might have given us a heart attack!

We know the dumpster is coming next week.... and A LOT of change is on its way!
